If the rod is installed: Measure the rod length and record this measurement.

If the rod is not installed: Decide where to mount the curtain rod above and beside the window frame, considering the desired visual effect.

Height Above the Window Frame: Typically, install curtain rods 6-10 inches above the frame to create the illusion of taller windows. Lightly mark this height with a pencil or use masking tape as a guide.

Width Beyond the Window Frame: Add 6-15 inches of extra width on each side of the window frame for curtain stacking. Lightly mark these points with a pencil or use masking tape as a guide.

To prevent draperies from appearing stretched, it’s important to account for fullness.

Pleated Styles:

Fullness is integrated into the design, using 200-230% fabric fullness to create rich, voluminous pleats.

2x Fullness: For pinch pleat, tailor pleat, inverted pleat, and goblet styles.

2.3x Fullness: For triple pleat and triple tailor pleat styles.

This means no extra width for fullness is necessary, as it is already included in the curtain processing.

SOFT TOP STYLES

The default fullness is 1 (or 100%). For the final measured width, consider adding 150-200% fullness. A 150% fullness offers a tailored look, while 200% fullness, which is recommended, creates a richer, more opulent appearance.

Recommended Fullness:

1.5 times the rod width: For a moderate gather.

2 times the rod width: For a standard gather.

You can adjust the fullness ratio based on the header type and determine how many panels are needed to achieve your desired fullness.

Step 3: Determine Drapery Finished Width and Length (with example)

Sinale Panel Width when Pleats Sewn(Measure from top fully Extended) =Your Ordered width

For example, if rod length is 100 inches. youmay order 2 panels each 50 inches width forpinch pleat style.

Drapery Panel width measures from end leftpleat to end right pleat when curtain is fullyextended,instead of when it is stacked.

Lenath is measured from the curtain hook'seyelet ring.

Stacked width account for around 20% ofpanel width you order.

Pleats are sewn permanently.

Single Panel Width when fully extended= Your Order width

For example, if the rod length is 100 inches.order 200% fullness width for folds, then youmay order 2 panels each 100 inches wide forBack Tab style.

Length is measured from the curtain top tobottom.

Within 1.6 inches diameter rod works for BackTab header.
